Sinclair Volleyball drops their home match to (9)Owens
Dayton, OH – The Sinclair Volleyball team played its second home match of the 2015 season tonight against visiting nationally ranked (9)Owens Express (1-0/8-3) from Toledo, Ohio.
Sinclair (0-2/3-4) came out struggling in game one 5-15, until Abigail Bertke saved the play by making a tremendous tip to gain the serve back. Alexandra Petri and Meg Reineke both tailed with two kills in the first match. The visiting Express wouldn’t let their guard down and trailed off to win the first match.
The Express was able to squeak out another win in game two with key kills and impressive saves to hold off the Tartan Pride. Even with the loss, Abigail Bertke helped the Tartans stay within range of the Express by making two amazing kills.
The Express was looking to finish game three early as they jumped out to a powerful 2-13 margin. The Tartans struggled to keep pace with the powerful and striking kills the Express was forcing at them. In the end, Owens had just too much power and experience and finished the match winning game three 10-25.
