Sinclair Volleyball dominates conference game on home court.


Dayton, OH – The Sinclair (11-7/4-3) Volleyball team dominated tonight over Edison Community College (2-11/0-5) in three games making this the Pride fourth earned conference game.

The Pride kept the first match close until Alexandra Petri (SO-Outside Hitter/Springboro H.S.) took over providing 5 kills. The Chargers struggled to keep up with the Pride powerful and aggressive attacks at the net. Meg Rieneke (FR-Outside Hitter/New Knoxville H.S.) helped the Pride with 2 kills followed by Abigail Bertke (FR-Middle Hitter/Dixie H.S.) with 1 kill as well. The Tartans went on to win the first match 25-10.

The Pride took over match two winning 25-5. Alexandra Petri served 15 straight serves to start the second match off. Edison Community College wasn’t able to keep up with the Pride strong serves leading them to victory.  Edison kept in close during the third match but lost the fight giving the Tartans the win 25-15. Meg Rieneke (FR-Outside Hitter/New Knoxville H.S.) and Alexandra Petri (SO-Outside Hitter/Springboro H.S.) were both aggressive at the net with 16 kills total. Added to those kills, Abigail Bertke (FR-Middle Hitter/Dixie H.S.) tallied for 2 kills to help the Tartans swipe the game away.

The Pride will travel to Owens Community College on Wednesday September 30th at 6:00pm to end the month. To start out the month of October, the Tartans will take on Clark State Community College on their home court at 7:30pm.

 All home games are played in Building 8 on the downtown Dayton campus.
