Dayton, OH – Sinclair Volleyball (1-3/2-7) hosted #14 Columbus State (4-0/8-0) tonight in their only home conference match during the month of September. The Columbus State Cougars remained tied for 1st in the conference with a 3-0 road win at Sinclair.
Sinclair opened the contest as they matched Columbus State point for point and even held the lead at 15-13 until the Cougars went on a 5-0 run to secure a 18-15 lead. The Pride would battle back but Columbus State would always get that one critical point to keep Sinclair just out of reach in game one.
Game two was over quick as Columbus State jumped out 5-0 and never looked back. After making the opening run to start game two, the Cougars put together another impressive 14-6 run in the middle to give the visitors a comfortable 19-7 margin and an easy 25-10 victory and a 2-0 lead.
Sinclair came out strong in game three as the host went up 5-2 before Columbus State regained the lead at 7-6. Not ready to call it quits, the Pride made another mini run to pull ahead 13-10. As the third game went back and forth, Columbus State had a back breaking rally to take the lead at 20-19 which Sinclair would never recover from. The Cougars would go on to score the next 5 points and close out the game and match.
