Sinclair Women knock off Owens 70-37

Dayton – The Tartan Pride played with a chip on its should Wednesday night ending Owen Community College 10 game win streak at home. Sinclair held the “former” OCCAC leader to a season low 37 points and 20% shooting. The Express began its winning streak defend Sinclair 55-47 in the first conference match-up. While the Pride are working a winning streak of their own, they controlled tempo from tip-off never trailing in the contest.

A sophomore trio displayed a stellar performance led by Amanda Schroeder's (6-00/SO – Carroll H.S.) 26 points and 14 rebounds. Keeara Nared (5-06/SO – Thurgood Marshall H.S.) logged her third double double in four games with 11 points and 13 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assist. Sinclair’s point guard Kierre James (5-02/SO – Lima Sr H.S.) led the Pride with a game-high 8 assist making her presence known ending with 17 points.

Shyah Wheeler led the Express with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Pride will be back in Building 8 Sunday against Lorain County Community.
