Sinclair James earns OCCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – A pair of first-time recipients were named the OCCAC’s Basketball Players of the Week (Dec. 31-Jan. 6) as Kierre James (Sinclair) and Dakota Prichard (Edison State) earned the weekly accolades.

Kierre James (5-02/SO – Lima Sr. H.S.) averaged 21 points and five assists per game in a split week for the ninth-ranked Tartan Pride. She knocked down a total of nine 3-pointers on 20 attempts (45%) and added four rebounds, three steals. James was a key contributor in both road contests, hitting eight field goals and dishing out five assists in each.

Sinclair (11-3 overall / 2-1 OCCAC) remains ranked in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Polls this week at #15.  They will finish the week Saturday at Cuyahoga Metro Campus in an all-important OCCAC match up
