Dayton, Ohio-The Sinclair athletics family hosted its 2nd annual Athletics Hall of Fame induction Friday night in Building 8 Arena. In an emotional ceremony for the second year in a row, the night featured Tom Archdeacon as the Master of Ceremonies as Sinclair inducted Norma Dycus and DeSean Hadley.
Dayton, OH – Sinclair Softball was on the road the weekend of September 29/30 with its first stop in Columbus Ohio at the annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic. This event has become one of the biggest fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness in central Ohio. The team faced NAIA Shawnee State, NAIA Ohio Christian and NCAA DIII Wittenberg.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – A Tartan Pride pair has been bestowed the honor of the 2017-18 OCCAC Sportsmanship of the Year award as Sinclair’s Jazzlyn Petry and Alec Holtrey swept the Female and Male recognitions. Petry competes on the softball squad while Holtrey spends his time on the hardwood as a member of the men’s basketball team.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Sinclair Softball swept the OCCAC Athlete of the Week awards for Apr. 23-29 with ‘Alexis Squared,’ Alexis Gordon and Alexis Strother, earning Position Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. For baseball, Edison State’s Jake Clements (position player) and Brock Begue (pitcher) of Cuyahoga received the weekly recognition.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Three of four OCCAC Spring Athlete of the Week honorees for April 16-22 are repeat customers while Cuyahoga’s Santiago Ramirez earns his first career Pitcher of the Week accolade. Softball selections Kallista Hribar (Lakeland; position player) and Alexis Strother (Sinclair; pitcher) both pick up their third award this season and Colin Shepherd (position player) from Sinclair snags his second.

Cuyahoga’s Chase Carney and Kaitlyn Boykin have been named the Position Players of the Week while fellow Challenger, Brock Begue, represents baseball’s Pitcher of the Week and Alexis Strother of Sinclair earns her second Pitcher of the Week accolade from the softball circle.
Dayton, OH – The Sinclair softball team blasted off to an 11-0 start based on outstanding play in Florida. The winning streak against top level national opponents got the attention of the national polls as Sinclair jump immediately to the top 20.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Edison State Baseball and Sinclair Softball swept the OCCAC Spring Sport Athletes of the Week for March 5-11. Cameron Davis (position player) and Marcus Johnson (player) are the baseball honorees while Brianna West (position player) and Alexis Strother (pitcher) bring the softball awards back to Sinclair.

Dayton, OH – Approximately 25 Sinclair student-athletes from the men’s & women’s basketball teams and the softball team spent Sunday afternoon walking to promote peace literacy and to support our local Peacebuilder organizations.
The Sinclair athletic department took time away from all the activities associated with the first day of classes for the Athletic department orientation. Monday was a long first day for most of our student athletes and it finished off with several speakers and individual team meeting or practice. About 85 student-athlete attended the annual kickoff to the academic year hosted by Jeff Price, Athletic Director.
Dayton, OH – The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has awarded five individuals the Sportsmanship of the Year award in their respective sports and an All-Sportsmanship conference team as part of the conference's inaugural Sportsmanship honors.
Sinclair has two individuals earning the Sportsmanship of the Year award for their sports and 3 more being named to the OCCAC All-Sportsmanship team for 2016-17.
Dayton, OH – The Athletic Department is pleased to announce that freshman Jazzlyn Petry (C/FR – Greenville H.S.) has received the Buckeye Charters Student-Athlete of Distinction Award for the month of April.
Each month the Athletic Department in conjunction with Buckeye Charters, will select a Student-Athlete that has been a leader in all three categories; Community Service, Classroom and Competition – also known as the 3 C’s.
Dayton, Ohio – The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) announced that four Sinclair Softball players were named to the 2017 All-Conference Team.
Sinclair finished the regular season 18-23 overall and 4-4 in the conference for a 2nd place finish. The 4-4 OCCAC record qualified them as the #2 seed in this week’s NJCAA Division II District J tournament played in Port Huron, MI.
