Tamesha J. Carter Signs with Sinclair

DAYTON, OhioMansfield Senior High Senior star Softball player Tamesha J. Carter signed her Letter of a Intent January 28th to play for the Sinclair Community College Tartans, in Dayton, Ohio.

Carter chose the Junior College route although heavily recruited by Div. 2, Div. 3, and NAIA schools. Her goal is to attend a major college after 2 years.

Carter and family felt Sinclair academically , socially and competitively was  the right fit.

Carter has been a 3 year starter at the Varsity level, coming into her Senior year.

Her freshman season was played at Mansfield Christian High School, where she broke the school record in Home Runs 5, helped the Flames win there first Sectional Title in 12 years. She played Shortstop and Catcher for the team. She was named team MVP, 2nd Team Northwest District , and 1st Team Mansfield News Journal All-Star. Carter batted .563 and led the team in other categories .

Carter moved to Mansfield Senior High School her Sophomore year , from Div. 3 to Div. 4. Carter maintained her good play as a 3rd baseman and Catcher for the Tygers. She was awarded Team MVP, 1st Team Ohio Cardinal Conference, and 1st Team Mansfield News Journal All-Star. She batted .499 and lead the team in a number of other categories.

Her Junior Carter showed the same consistent play, while playing 3rd Base and Catcher. She again was named Team MVP, 1st Team Ohio Cardinal Conference, 1st Team Mansfield News Journal All-Star, and 1st Team Richland Source. She batted .447 and again led team in other categories.

During the summer, Carter has played  travel Softball for the Marion Diamonds, out of Marion, Ohio. They have won many tournaments and have played 4 World Series , from Orlando, Fl; South Carolina; Wisconsin, to Maryland.

Carter said her goal is to finish her senior year strong and with the same passion. She is excited about playing for Coach Steven Beachler and the Tartan Pride. She wants to be apart of the history bringing Sinclair to the top of the Softball world after being out for so long.
