Sinclair Men fall at home 92-82.

Dayton, Ohio – Sinclair (6-4/1-1) just completed a long home stand with a 92-82 loss to visiting Skippers of St. Clair County (9-1/0-0).  The first game coming out of Finals is usually one of the most uncertain games, not knowing which team shows up and how mentally ready they are to play.

Sinclair took an early 8 point lead to start the game as the Skippers could not put any offense together.  Even though the Pride was up 8, they were not playing well and not shooting the ball.

To end the half, the visitors outscored the Pride 27-12 to take a 7 point lead into half.  Poor shooting and live ball turnover plagued Sinclair as they struggled to keep up and stay close.

Coming out after intermission both teams were a little better offensively as both seemed to trade baskets.  Sinclair continued to make mini-runs at the Skippers getting it down to 4 points several time only to have St. Clair hit big shots to push it back out to 10 points.

The games leading score Sean McNeil (6-04/FR – Cooper H.S. KY) had an unusual off shooting night by his standards on connecting on 7 of 20 three point attempts (35%) but was a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line on his way to scoring 44 points.

Ronnell Turner (6-1/FR – Cincinnati Northwest H.S.) chipped in with 18 points also going perfect from the free throw line at 8 of 8.

Today was the final game in Building 8 Arena due to electrical work being completed over the break.  Both men’s & women’s teams will now spend the next 6 weeks, 8 games played in 4 different states on the road and a total of over 3,100 miles traveled before returning home for the January 19th game against Lorain County.
