Pietrzak named Buckeye Charters Athlete of Distinction for November
Dayton, OH – The Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Sophomore Jackson Pietrzak (6-00/SO – Dixie H.S.) has received the Buckeye Charters Student-Athlete of Distinction Award for the month of November.
Each month the Athletic Department in conjunction with Buckeye Charters, will select a Student-Athlete that has been a leader in all three categories; Community Service, Classroom and Competition – also known as the 3 C’s.
This month we would like to honor Sophomore Jackson Pietrzak of the Men’s Basketball team. Jackson has been active in the community and continues to lead the way in the Classroom. This fall he was named to the Dean’s List with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
He earned OCCAC All-Academic honors last season and was a member of the 2015-16 Sinclair Men’s Basketball team that won the OCCAC regular season championship with a record of 28-3. Jackson is also on pace to earn the NJCAA All-Academic honors at the end of the academic year.
As a sophomore, he was named tri-captain and the team received the NJCAA Pre-Season Ranking of #13. Heading into the holiday break, Jackson has helped the Pride to a #4 NJCAA Ranking with a 10-1 record.
Jackson and his other two tri-captains holds a great honor in the Sinclair record books. They hold the longest winning streak and the best start to a season: 21-0. They can also state that they have never lost a college basketball game in two years during the month of November.
Special thanks go out to Buckeye Charters for this award that honors those student-athletes that are great in the three C’s. Buckeye Charters have been providing quality and reliable transportation for student-athletes around the region as well as many other groups for over 22 years. They have proven over the many years of partnership with the athletic department that they also value the commitment to high standards, and this is why we are pleased to name this monthly award: The Buckeye Charters Student-Athlete of Distinction
