Dayton, OH – Sinclair Community College and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is pleased to announce both the baseball and softball teams earned NJCAA All-Academic honors for 2017-18.
The NJCAA recognized 739 teams with a GPA of 3.0 student-athletes for their success in the classroom. In addition to the two All-Academic team honors this season, Sinclair also had 16 student-athletes earning NJCAA All-Academic individuals honors.
That growth nationally continued here at Sinclair as the Pride had 16 individuals earning all-academic honors compared to 10 last year. Not only did we have an increase in individual honors, but we also had two teams once again earning all-academic team distinctions.
This is the third consecutive year for the baseball team earning All-Academic team honors and the first time for the softball team.
This year Sinclair had a total of 75 student-athletes competing on five different teams. The Pride had 27 student-athletes earning academic all-conference honors in the fall and 28 in the spring from the OCCAC (3.3 GPA) for the year.
The NJCAA has recognized teams with an overall grade-point average of at least a 3.0 for their sport and gender with the NJCAA All-Academic Team Award.
